Surf Report — August 2, 2026

🌊 Surf Report – August 2, 2026

Conditions remain on the smaller side, but there’s still consistent energy in the water. Most forecast models are calling for 2–3 feet, but the actual breaking wave faces are closer to 4–6 feet. That’s a common difference here in Nicaragua, where forecast models often underestimate the size of waves breaking over our reefs and sandbars.

With today’s conditions, the high-tide breaks continue to be the best choice. Expect fun surf at Shacks, Shifties, Punta Miramar, Hermosa, and Transito during the morning high tide. If you miss that early window, Salinas Grande is the best option through the dropping mid tide and again as the afternoon tide begins to push back in after the midday low.

Today’s surf is ideal for fish, grovelers, funboards, mid-lengths, and longboards. It’s also an excellent time for beginners, kids, and anyone looking to improve their surfing without dealing with heavy overhead barrels. If you’ve been wanting to build confidence, work on turns, or simply catch more waves, these are about as friendly as Nicaragua gets.

We’ll continue to monitor conditions throughout the day and update the report if anything changes.
